The former Cohn Building is getting a new face-lift. Its new owner, John W. Waters, is remodeling the building for office space. His brick work fits beautifully with the other downtown structures.
Zelda’s will have a Christmas Lunch on Friday December 22. Turkey and Dressing - Giblet Gravy - Baked Ham - Fried Chicken Nuggets - Green Beans - Mashed Potatoes - Niblet Corn - Yams - Garden Peas - Squash Casserole - Pecan Pie - Blackberry Cobbler.
The Tourism Council has established a “Summer House Committee” for the restoration of the Summer House at Oak Hill Cemetery damaged by Hurricane Opal. Mr. Mack Varner will be the chairman.
Mt. Silla Sunday School and Youth Department presents the play “To Give A Gift” on Sunday, December 17, 1995 at the regular worship hour.

Bernard Elder Cox, Jr., of Union Springs has received his commission as second lieutenant in the U. S. Air Force. The commission was awarded prior to his graduation at Auburn University Dec. 9.
Friends of little Kim Dozier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Dozier, are glad to hear that she is getting along nicely after being so very ill in a Montgomery Hospital and is recuperating at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Cox.
The Twentieth Century Club met on Dec. 8th for its Christmas meeting in the home of Mrs. Billy Brabham. Beautiful Christmas decorations prevailed throughout the home. Mrs. Fern Rainer, president, presided over the business session. Mrs. Esther Harden was welcomed as a visitor.

Cadet Jerry Green arrived last evening from G.M.A., in Atlanta, Ga., and will spend a three week’s vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Green.
Pvt. James W. Bristow is expected to arrive Saturday to spend the holidays at home.

Dr. A. B. Horn is out again, after having been kept in for sometime by a right serious spell of illness.
Mrs. R. E. L. Cope was the cordial hostess to the Mothers’ Club on December the first. The study for the afternoon was the Childrens’ Poets.
Mr. William Pritchett, of Simsville, spent Monday in the city.
