Voters went to the polls Tuesday and nominated three Democratic candidates for local offices for the General Election. Johnny Adams and Alonza Ellis were nominated for seats on the Bullock County Commission and Mattie Coston was nominated for Place 1 on the Bullock County Board of Education.
Work crews were out at night last week restriping lines in the downtown part of Union Springs.

Tracy Marie Rodgers, daughter of Mattie Rodgers, received a Master of Education degree on June 1, 1996, during Auburn University at Montgomery’s Spring Commencement. Rodgers, who has a B.A. in Mass Communications, is a 1988 graduate of Bullock County High School.
