By BCHS Coach Sheldon Ward

In just a week after defeating the BTW Eagles, The BCHS Hornets hosted the Yellow Jackets from Abbeville.

The Hornets came in on a high, but it didn’t end on a high note. The Hornets fell by the score of 32-0.

Abbeville was able to put together a great rushing attack and our Hornets didn’t have many answers. Coach Ward stated, “We have to get better and more physical on the defensive side of the ball. We also have to do a better job of tackling.”

There were a few bright spots. The Hornets forced and recovered two Yellow Jacket fumbles. JayMarkis Foster (ten tackles) and James Holmes (eight tackles) had a really good game. On the offensive side, the Hornets could not get a lot going.

There were a few drives that showed promise, but Abbeville did a great job keeping the Hornets out of the end zone. Bright spots on offense were Brandon Perry, Bryant Grant, Jarquavious Smith, and Robert Williams.

The Hornets will have an opportunity, at home, to bounce back this Friday. They will host the Warriors of Dale County. Kickoff is 7:00 p.m.
