The Conecuh Springs Christian School (CSCS) Eagles traveled to Jemison to take on the Patriots of Chilton Christian this past Thursday in the semifinals of the CFA 6-man football League.
After scoring early and often the Eagles cruised to a 52-20 victory to advance to their first-ever championship game. Leading the offense for the Eagles was Cesar Bravo-Mota, who rushed the ball nine times for 199 yards and three touchdowns. Bravo-Mota also scored on a 50-yard kickoff return.
Also scoring rushing touchdowns were Sergio Bravo-Mota (one yard) and Richard Santay (two yards).
The Eagles were also able to score through the air as Lott Putnam connected with Miguel Gudino on a 40-yard pass for a touchdown.
The Eagle defense was able to keep Chilton off of their game by applying constant pressure and causing two early fumbles that led to easy scores for the offense. Leading the defense was Ivan Reyes-Bautista with five tackles and Richard Santay with four.
Assisting in the Eagle’s victory were Joseph Jones and Efraim Perez-Vaquero with two tackles and a fumble recovery each.
Overall, it was a great game for the Eagles as they advance to the first Championship game in school history.
The game will be held this Friday night in Ashland where the Eagles will face the Clay County Christian Eagles.
Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. and all fans are encouraged to attend.
