After taking care of the Eagles of Carroll High School (61-51) Bullock County took on the Central Hayneville Lions Thursday night. The Hornets outplayed the Lions throughout the whole game with their defense.
It was a block party down the lane for Hornets’ Forward/Center Luke Sturdivant. He led the interior defense with five out of the seven team blocks.
Sturdivant with 16 points also led the game in rebounds with 14 off the glass. Jalaceon Green dominated on the boards with 13 rebounds (Hornets had 35 total rebounds) to go along with 20 points, 8 assists, and 4 steals. On the offensive end the Hornets were making a living going to the free throw line.
For the game the Hornets scored 20/28 from the charity strike.
Dekarie Anthony had the hot hands from the arc with four three pointers totaling his points to 17 against the Lions. He stated after the game, “It was all about my teammates. They found me when I was open and moving the ball. We just executed what we practice and got the win.”
Although only seven players were available, the Hornets took out the Lions 74-47 at the end of regulation.
