Bullock County High School Junior Varsity and Varsity cheerleading squads attended Alabama State University’s Cheer Camp on June 4th-5th.

Members of the Bullock County High School Junior Varsity and Varsity cheerleading squads attended Alabama State University’s Cheer Camp on June 4th-5th.

During camp, they learned motion and stunting techniques, cheers, chants, and dances, taught by ASU’s cheerleading team.

On Day two of camp, both squads participated in their divisions’ evaluations and were awarded a total of eight team wins and two individual medals.

JV won

1st place 2022 Cheer Champion

1st place 2022 Extreme Routine

1st place 2022 Sequence Champion

2nd place 2022 Chant Champion

Varsity won

2nd place 2022 Cheer Champion

2nd place 2022 Extreme Routine

2nd place 2022 Sequence Champion

2nd place 2022 Chant Champion

Junior Varsity Cheerleader, Breyonna Rudolph, won BEST JUMPER in the JV division.

Varsity Cheerleader, Donovan Walker, won BEST JUMPER in the Varsity division.

Coach/Sponsor Ranita L. Holmes stated, “I am truly proud of both of our teams. All of our members weren’t present at camp, but were well represented by their peers.

Some of our cheerleaders are now on the radar for potentially furthering their education at ASU, by way of scholarships!

So I’m definitely excited to see what’s in store for our program. With hard work and dedication, we’re only getting better! LETS GO HORNETS!!”
