The Conecuh Springs Christian School Eagles were once again on the road this past Thursday night to take on the 2-time defending champion Clay County Christian.
After a quick defensive stand, the Eagles scored on their first possession and never looked back as they cruised to a 55-19 victory. It was the first time in 2 years that Clay County had been beaten.
Once again leading the offensive attack for the Eagles were the Bravo-Mota brothers. Sergio had 12 rushes for 166 yards and 4 touchdowns, while Cesar had 12 rushes for 161 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Johan Perez Vaquero kicked in two extra point conversions adding another 4 points to the score.
Six-man football counts the extra-point kick as a two-point conversion. The other score came from the defense as Ivan Reyes Bautista tackled the quarterback in the endzone for a safety.
The Eagle defense was once again pretty stingy, only allowing 2 scores. The other score being a fumble recovered by Clay County in the endzone for a touchdown. Miguel Gudino led the Eagles with a career-high 12 tackles and 1 fumble recovery.
Next was Sergio Bravo-Mota with 6.
Also contributing to the defensive effort were Cesar Bravo-Mota and Kevin Padilla, both with a fumble recovery.
Next up for Conecuh Springs will be a home contest against the Patriots of Chilton Christian on Friday, October 1.
The kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m., and all Eagle fans are encouraged to attend.
