Lott Putnam’s one-out line drive to the right field corner drove home Miguel Gudino from second base in the bottom of the seventh inning to push Conecuh Springs past ACAA rival New Life Christian, of Millbrook, 3-2, on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Eagle Diamond.

With the score knotted at 2 runs each, Drew Wadsworth reached first on an infield single to start the seventh. Miguel Gudino singled to right.

Sergio Bravo Mota then reached on a fielder’s choice to set the stage for Putnam’s game winning rbi double.

Conecuh Springs jumped ahead 2-0 in the third inning. With two out in the inning, Gudino doubled to right center.

Putnam followed later with a single to center to drive home Gudino, swiped second, and dashed home on sophomore catcher Tyler Culpepper’s rbi single to centerfield to push Conecuh Springs ahead by two.

The lead would stand up until the fifth when New Life broke through with two runs to tie on a pair of singles, a called balk, and infield error.

Starting pitcher, right hander Lott Putnam (2-0), went the distance for Conecuh Springs. Putnam stifled New Life hitters with sixteen strikeouts while surrendering no walks and two singles.

Center fielder Sergio Bravo Mota, second baseman Kevin Padilla, and shortstop Miguel Gudino also chipped in assists and putouts for the Eagle defense.

Conecuh Springs is back in action at home on Friday, March 19 at Eagle Diamond against Victory Christian of Millbrook.

First pitch is set for 3:00 p.m.
