Dear Editor,

I am one lucky dog, but my life didn’t start out so great. Unfortunately, Union Springs does not have a leash law, so many of us wander the streets looking for food and shelter.

I sure wish that could be changed for our protection and other’s well-being. But I got lucky when I was taken to the Bullock County Humane Society, although I was not happy about being in a pen at the time.

Soon I was taken to a place called Walking on the Moon Animal Hospital for health care and some type of operation.

I was so scared, but a nice lady named Lisa looked after me. While I was there, I was adopted and taken to my forever home.

They gave me a new name after some famous man named Reagan. I liked it.

This nice lady told her brother Rob that my brother was still in the shelter and needed a home.

So his family adopted him and took him to live at a place called Adams Angus Farm.

The twin daughters named him Huckleberry but called him Huck.

He loved being a farm dog. My new home was in a place called Jonesboro, GA, and I had a miniature Schnauzer named Perote and a Yorkie called Molly as playmates.

The fenced-in backyard and doggie door are great! Thank you to everyone who played a part in my becoming one lucky dog!
