This is a letter to explain to the public about the procedure for the "Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child" with gifts for children around the world. The collection for these shoe boxes for Bullock County is First Baptist Church from November 18 through November 25, 2019. Material at the church explains the procedure followed in countries around the globe to prepare for the delivery of the shoe boxes, as follows.

"National Leadership Teams train pastors and community leaders who want to share the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and bless children. The leaders learn how to host child-friendly outreach events to deliver the shoe boxes, and how to implement the "Greatest Journey" follow-up discipleship (Bible study) program. Churches around the world hand out shoe boxes at festive outreach events where the Gospel is clearly presented, followed by a Bible study in a 12-week course.

Christians also take shoe boxes with gifts to orphanages, hospitals and at-rick places to share the hope of Christ. Along with the gifts, Gospel booklets are included (In their own language) called "The Greatest Gift" to help shoe box recipients to learn about God's Greatest Gift, His Son, Jesus Christ.

As a result, the Gospel is shared with friends and family. The students also invite others to their Bible course graduation where the Gospel is shared. This often brings parents, siblings and friends to accept Christ and become active members in the local church.

Families are reached, churches grow, new churches are started, and communities are transformed.

Thousands of volunteers serve annually in America, inspecting and preparing shoe boxes for international shipping. Every hour work stops a few minutes to pray for the children who will receive the shoe boxes."

This letter is to let the public know you can pick up a shoe box and instructions at First Baptist Church in Union Springs, or use one of your own shoe boxes.

The last day to bring a filled shoe box to First Baptist Church is November 25, 2019. Phone the church if you have questions about what to include in your shoe box. (334-738-2840)
