This letter is a public thank-you to our recent Mayor Saint T. Thomas, Jr. As a reporter for the Union Springs Herald newspaper, the Mayor provided me with copies of the minutes of the City Council meetings, ordinances, proclamations, and any other material that would help me to write accurate and complete articles.

He was always prompt and courteous. It was helpful when he requested a photo of a person being acknowledged for an accomplishment.

He represented Union Springs well. He was highly educated, having completed one career in the field of education, and he dressed as a professional.

He was always well prepared to conduct the City Council meetings and treated guests on the agenda and all city council members with respect.

As the former Mayors did, he held the monthly Mayor's Prayer Breakfasts and also offered prayers.

The church he attended in Midway was one of the host churches. I have heard him pray at various other public events.

One day I walked into his office and saw his Bible open in front of his computer. That spoke volumes to me of his private worship.

I extend best wishes for much happiness to Mayor Saint T. Thomas, Jr.
