O.C. Murray

Carter Funeral Home humbly announces the transition of Mr. O.C. Murray of Fitzpatrick, Alabama. Mr. Murray, 63, peacefully transitioned into eternity on November 11, 2020, at his residence.

Celebration of Life Services and Interment was held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. from the Mt. Carmel Baptist Cemetery of the Simsville Community. A public visitation was held on Monday, November 16, 2020, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home.

All visitations and services were conducted exercising prescribed social distancing protocols. Facial coverings for all attendees are mandated per the executive order of the Governor of the State of Alabama.

O.C. Murray was born on December 15, 1956 in Bullock County, Alabama to the late Elizabeth Johnson-Murry and Clem Murry. He joined the Mt. Mariah Baptist Church at an early age where he served faithfully on the usher’s board. Mr. Murray was also a trustee of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. O.C. was employed at Walmart Distribution Center Brundidge, Alabama for the past fifteen years.

He earned five Associate of the Month Certificates and Certificate of Appreciation for Outstanding Attendance Achievement. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Hudson Johnson, Henry Louis Murray, James Clem Murray and Herman Murray; and two sisters, Louise Murray-Love and Willie Ruth Still.

O.C. leaves to cherish his memories: six sons, OC Bernard (Jeslynn) Todd, Kermit Todd, Michael (Artricial) Todd, Ricky Glasco, Floyd Todd, and George Todd, all of Union Springs, AL; eight grandchildren, Dontavious Blue, Kermit Todd, Kermarion Todd, Kermilleon Todd, Kermario, Michael Todd, Jr., Mia Todd, and Mya Todd; sisters and brothers, Bobbie (Raymond) Carter, Oklahoma City, OK, Pearlie Murry, Union Springs, AL, Linda Murry, Fitzpatrick, AL, Bernard (Pat) Johnson, Summerville, SC, John Murray, and Ronnie Murray, both of Union Springs, AL; aunts, Edna Jean Baskin, Union Springs, AL and Yvonne Washington, Wichita, KS; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.
