Patsy Ophelia Benning Pritchett, 85, a resident of Union Springs, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021. On Wednesday, September 29, 2021, funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, with Rev. Bill Cannon and Hal Hepburn officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with committal by Rev. Andy Hepburn officiating and Gray Funeral Home directing.
Patsy was born on October 23, 1935, and she was the only child of John Gray and Virgie Ree Benning. Patsy was one of the first female insurance agents in the state and worked for ALFA Insurance.
She was a devoted wife and mother. Her children and grandchildren were the most important things in her life. Everything she did was done with excellence. Patsy was a great cook, and she was known for her artwork and design.
She was very active in her beloved church, where she served as secretary of her Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Rex Pritchett, Jr., "Big Rex."
She is survived by her children, Belinda Pritchett Hepburn and her husband Andy, and Rex Pritchett, III; grandchildren, Andrea Hepburn (Scott) Adams, Hal (Carey) Hepburn, Miranda Pritchett, Hunter (Haley) Pritchett IV; three great-grandchildren, Avi Grace Hepburn, Elisa Gray Hepburn, and Ruth Anne Hepburn. Pallbearers will be Hal Hepburn, Hunter Pritchett, Scott Adams, Rome Pritchett, Mike Rotten, and Steve Long.
The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
