Carter Funeral Home announces the peaceful transition of Mr. Eddie Lee “Bud” Pendleton, of Union Springs Alabama. Mr. Pendleton, 72, transitioned into eternal life December 9, 2021, while in the comforting care of the professionals at the Jackson Hospital and Clinic, in Montgomery, AL.
The Commemoration of Life began with a public visitation, on Saturday, December 18, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home. Farewell services at the graveside were held Sunday, December 19, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. from the Union Hill Missionary Baptist Cemetery, in Union Springs, AL.
Pastor Rev. Dr. Sidney D. Jernigan, Jr. delivered the message of comfort. In accordance with recommended COVID-19 Protocols, all attendees were requested to utilize appropriate facial coverings, maintain social distancing, and minimize physical contact. Eddie Lee “Bud” Pendleton, Jr., was born in Union Springs, Alabama on June 28, 1949 to the late Mr. Eddie Lee “Bone” Pendleton and Mrs. Louise Etheridge Pendleton.
He departed his life on December 9, 2021 at Jackson Hospital, in Montgomery, AL. Bud was preceded in death by both of his parents, his brother, Otis Pendleton, Sr., his sister, Janice Pendleton, two nephews, Patrick Flynn and Benjamin Tremane Pendleton and niece Tracy Brown. He attended Carver High School currently named Bullock County High School. Some of his past employments were Western Auto, Wayne Farms, and Bullock County Board of Education. He was a carpenter, air conditioner and refrigerator technician, electrician and to sum it up, Bud was a “jack of all trades”.
Bud had a genuine personality and possessed a loving and giving spirit. He was the life of the party and never met a stranger. His favorite hobbies were fishing, hunting, cooking, horseback riding and having a good time with family and friends. He leaves behind to cherish his memories to his children.
His son Demetrius Rivers, of Midway, Alabama, and his daughters, Konedra Pendleton, Montgomery, Alabama, Nikki Davis, Union Springs, Alabama and stepdaughter, Phyllis Mabson-Penn, Union Springs, Alabama. His grandchildren Kamonyi “Tutti” Ivy (whom he assisted in raising), Demetrius Rivers, Jr., Damontrez Rivers and Kaniya Rivers. Four sisters, Sharon (James) McCommon, Birmingham, AL, Marion P. (Otis) Simpson, Shelia M. Pendleton, Geneva Pendleton Flynn, all of Montgomery, Alabama, and a special cousin, Lisa Callaway, Union Springs, AL. A host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
