Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Ms. Poshie Lee Mims of Union Springs, Alabama. Ms. Mims, 72, peacefully transitioned into eternity September 15, 2021, at her residence.
The Commemoration of life began with a public visitation, Friday, September 24, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home. The Farewell Celebration was held Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. from the Second Missionary Baptist Cemetery Pastor Gary Lewis of the First Missionary Baptist Church delivered the message of comfort and strength.

All visitations and services will be conducted exercising prescribed social distancing protocols and all attendees are encouraged to utilize appropriate facial coverings. MS. POSHIE LEE MIMS was born March 17, 1949 to the late Elijah and Bernice Mims in Perote, Al.
She accepted Christ at an early age, where she joined Old Union Grove Baptist Church in Perote, AL under the leadership of the late Rev. Willie Jackson.
She attended the school system of Bullock County and later became a home maker.
On September 15, 2021 she departed this life to be with the Lord at the age of 72, surrounded by her loved ones.
She is preceded in death by one brother Oscar Mims and one sister Barbara Dubose and one sister-in-law, Janie N. Mims. Ms. Mims leaves cherished and fondest memories to eight devoted children. Thomas Mims, Douglas Mims both of Union Springs, AL, Christopher (Hazel) Mims of Florissant, MO, Nicholas (Bertha) Mims, Michael Mims, Nicole (King) Davis, Desmond Mims, and Tiffany Mims all of Union Springs, AL; four sisters: Doris Mims of Union Springs, AL, Terry (Rev. Alfonzie) Ross of Eufaula, AL, Reba Mims of Union Springs, AL and Carrie Dean of Arcadia, FL; five brothers: Sammie Mims and Elijah Mims both of Albany, NY, John Henry Mims of Union Springs, AL, Jimmy Lee and Albert James Lee of Arcadia, FL; brother-in-law, Edward Dubose of Haines City, FL; twelve wonderful grandchildren, Deshawn Mims, JaBittany Taylor, Shameria Lewis, Alayshea Tolliver, Amarion Tolliver, McKenzie Mims, Kaitlyn Mims, Sidney Davis, Nicholas Mims, Noah Mims, King E. Davis and London Mims; two great grandchildren: Taylin Asane and Kinsley Asane.
Six aunts and one uncle and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
