Leon Singleton, 82, a resident of Luverne, formerly of Union Springs, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. from Gray Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Thomas Mayberry officiating.
Burial followed in Sandfield Cemetery with Gray Funeral Home directing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Marie Singleton, and his son, Kevin Singleton. Mr. Leon had a gift of bringing a smile to the faces of all who knew him. He was so happy all the time and cracking jokes; some of the most funniest ones and some he made up with his signature.
He was such a family man. He and Judy raised their kids to have hearts. He instilled hard work in his children and taught them respect and care and to give thanks to God. He was a Christian man who raised his children in a loving Christian home.
Mr. Leon was famous for giving the ones he loved a nickname and making you feel that it was fitting for you. Above all else, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He adored his family, and they adored him. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with all of them. He enjoyed the trips he would take with his family. He was always ready to go.
He enjoyed the trips he and Judy would take with his brother Floyd and sister-in-law Carolyn. He will be missed by everyone, but oh, what memories; all happy and or funny memories. Leon was employed by the City of Union Springs for many years. He and Kevin are catching up on the time missed. Rest In Peace, dear one.
