Serving and sharing for over a century, Mrs. Martha Howard Rogers, 102, gained her heavenly wings on October 22, 2020.

A resident of Midway, Alabama, Mrs. Rogers transitioned peacefully into eternity at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL. Celebration of Life Services and Interment was held Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. from the St. Mark AME Cemetery of the Guerryton Community, Hurtsboro, Alabama.

The message of comfort was delivered by Pastor Antonio James. Public visitation was held Friday, October 30, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home of Union Springs, Alabama. All services and visitations will be conducted exercising prescribed social distancing protocols. Facial coverings for all attendees are mandated per an executive order of the Governor of the State of Alabama.

A Time to be Born Martha H. Rogers was born October 8, 1918 to the late Virginia and Henry Howard. A Time to Serve For many years, Sis. Martha, as she was affectionately called, served as a missionary and a seamstress.

She confessed Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of the St. Mark A.M.E. Church. She loved to bake and was famous for her homemade caramel cakes. Her greatest joy was being a mother, grandmother and just spending time with her family. A Time to Die After 102 years of faithful service, she gained her heavenly wings on October 22, 2020.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late John Henry Rogers. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Lorean Rogers Randolph.

A Time of Peace She leaves to celebrate her life, four loving daughters, Katie Mae Jones, Winter Haven, FL, Ethel Mae Ford, Jacksonville, FL, Virginia (Mallon) Dobbins, Franklin, TN and Martha L. (William) Jenkins, Union Springs, AL. One loving son Henry Rogers, aka Wilbert, Orlando, FL. 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 37 great-great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
