Kizzie Ruth Phelps May of Lawrenceburg, TN and formerly of Union Springs, passed Dec. 20, 2021, in Lawrenceburg. The funeral was held Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Timothy Jones officiating.
Burial was in Perpetual Care Cemetery with Gray Funeral Home directing. Visitation was one hour prior to the funeral.
She was a member of the First Street Church of Christ in Lawrenceburg, TN, and an ambassador for the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce. While living in Union Springs, AL, where she was born and raised, she was a member of the Union Springs church of Christ for many years.
Her faith was the very center of her life, and she was a fearless defender of the truth that is only found in the Bible. Her other interests while in Union Springs included the Chunnenuggee Garden Club, the Union Springs Library, and the Red Door Theater.
She is survived by one daughter, Jean (Curtis) Wasmer of Nashville, TN; two sons, Kevin (Lorna) May of Houston, TX and Ben (Jennifer) May of Lawrenceburg, TN; sister, Sara (Butch) Moore of Warner Robbins, GA and one brother, Terry (Nancy) Phelps of Columbus, GA; nine grandchildren: Jason May, Clint May, Wil Jett, Alyssa Jett, David May, Will May, Katie Hackman, Allie Wallace, and Cristen Wasmer; eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jason May, Clint May, Wil Jett, Sawyer Wallace, Grant Winter, and Clark Williamson.
