Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Ms Betty J. Thomas of Union Springs, Alabama. Betty Jean Thomas was born to Susie L. Thomas and the late Ervin Lee Thomas, Sr. on August 31, 1948, in the Town Creek Community of Union Springs, Alabama.

She confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Mount Hillard Baptist Church. Betty was educated in the Bullock County School System. She departed this life on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at her home in Union Springs, Alabama.

Betty leaves to cherish her memories: a loving mother, Susie Mae Thomas of Union Springs, Alabama; one brother, Edward Thomas of Union Springs, Alabama; five sisters, Madeleline Mocklin of Cleveland, Ohio, Susie Jones of Troy, Alabama, Carrie Sparks, Gloria Thomas, and Mary Thomas, all of Union Springs, Alabama; one aunt, Lula Thomas, of Union Springs, Alabama; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
