Carter Funeral Home humbly announces the peaceful transition of Mr. Willie James Manuel, 64, of Midway, AL.

Mr. Manuel known and loved as “Bubba” by his family and friends, transitioned into eternity on November 26, 2020 at his residence.

Celebration of Life Services and Interment was held at the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Cemetery, Midway, Alabama, on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.

The message of triumph was delivered by Pastor W J Glover of the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, Midway, Alabama.

Public visitation was held Friday, December 4, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home of Union Springs, Alabama.

All services and visitations will be conducted exercising prescribed social distancing protocols. Facial coverings for all attendees are mandated per an executive order of the Governor of the State of Alabama.

Willie James Manuel was born on February 16, 1956 to the late George and Lorena Manuel of Midway, Alabama. “Bubba” as he was affectionate known accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of The Fellowship Baptist Church of Midway, Alabama.

Bubba attended Job Corps where he received his GED and Construction Certification. He was the owner of Manuel Construction Company, Midway, Alabama where he devoted many years of service to Bullock, Barbour, Pike and surrounding counties. Bubba was married to Seretha Griffin Manuel for twenty years.

They were in the process of adopting their first child together, Adam. Bubba departed this life on November 26, 2020.

He was proceeded in death by his parents George and Lorena Manuel; son, Willie Person; grandson Kylan Livingston, four brothers: William, Wilfred, George, and Henry Manuel; and one sister; Wilmar Manuel Williams.

Bubba leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife, Seretha Griffin Manuel; two daughters, Kandaci Person and Alison Vaughn; two sons, Anthony and Justin Vaughn; grandchildren, Tray, James, Jamez, Jordyn, Adam, Kenidee, Jana, Justin Jr., Ji’Mani, Jordan, Kamryn, Camille, Americia, Zikierah, Omar, and Shanesha; six sisters, Mary Manuel of Miami, FL; Mattie Ballard of Shuqualak, MS; Johnnie Maunn, Claudia (McDuffy) Lias, Maggie (William) Tarver of Midway, AL; Georgia Manuel of Fort Wayne, IN; devoted friends, Fred Rogers, McDuffy Lias, and Toney Manuel; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends that are too numerous to name.
