Mr. Donald Max Shirah, age 70, a resident of Blue Springs, Alabama, died Friday, November 27, 2020 at Southeast Health in Dothan, Alabama.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Glover Funeral Home Chapel in Clayton with the Reverend Russell Hagler officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Clayton directing.
A visitation will be held Monday, November 30, 2020 at Glover Funeral Home in Clayton, Alabama from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. All social distance and mask guidelines will be followed.
Mr. Shirah was born on June 26, 1950 in Clio, Alabama the son of Marlin Truett Shirah and Evelene Baxley Shirah.
Mr. Shirah was a 1968 graduate of Blue Springs High School. He retired from the U.S. Army and then worked as a truck driver for several years.
Later he moved to Union Springs and worked with the Utilities Board. Before retiring to his home town of Blue Springs he worked 15 years at the Waste Water Treatment plant for the Civil Service in Fort Rucker and Warner Robbins, GA.
In his spare time, he enjoyed: fishing, crossword puzzles, being outside cutting grass, and he was an avid Alabama football fan. Mr. Shirah was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include: wife of 11 years, Rebecca Sipes Shirah; three daughters, Tiffany Stevenson of New Mexico, Leigh Rosnick (Eric) of Crestview, FL, and Selena Moorer (Robert) of Union Springs, AL; three step daughters, Ashley Christensen (Austin) of Enterprise, AL, Amanda Hankins (Cody) of Sheridan, AR, and Tonya Morrow of Geneva, AL; three brothers, Marlin Shirah (Junior) of Blue Springs, AL, Bobby Shirah of Millbrook, AL, Rupert Shirah of Blue Springs, AL; sister, Celia Adams (David) of Clayton, AL; six grandchildren, eight step grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted.
