Ann Hendley was a fixture in Union Springs, Alabama, for nearly 69 years. Born in Georgianna, Alabama, she married Cephus H. Hendley, Jr. when she was 22 years old and moved to Union Springs, where she lived until her demise, just 11 days short of her 91st birthday.
She was the epitome of southern charm and grace with a gentle and kind spirit. She loved her family with all her heart and was a devoted Christian that loved her church.
She worked side by side in the family business with her husband for over 50 years, making friends with nearly every customer that walked through the door.
She raised an adoring family and was loved by everyone that knew her. She will be sorely missed. Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Alma Bell Williams; her father, Earl Judson Williams; her brother, Earl Judson Williams, Jr., and her husband, Cephus H. Hendley, Jr.
She is survived by four children: Patti (Jimmy) Spurlin of Union Springs, AL, Conni (Al) Barnett of Pike Road, AL, Darron (Renee Peek) Hendley of Pike Road, AL, and Holly (Andy) Feris of Nashville, TN; grandchildren: Shanna Spurlin Culpepper, Allan (Lauren) Barnett, Allison (Neal) Whatley, Kara (William) Beatrous, Erin Simpson and Emily (Michael) Kuhn; great-grandchildren: Hendley and Spurlin Culpepper, Henderson and Bradley Elizabeth Barnett and Garrard Whatley; sister, Margaret Powell, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021, at Faith Independent Baptist Church, 201 North Abercrombie Street, Union Springs, AL. Visitation will start at 1:00 p.m., and service will follow at 2:00 p.m.
