Bettye Thompson Billingsley passed peacefully December 12, 2020, in Northglenn, CO. Bettye was born to the late William Oliver Thompson and Maggie Lawrence Thompson in Selma, AL, March 4, 1936.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Coldon, and brother, George Thompson, and survived by her sister, Barbara Schoenberg, and brother, Joseph Thompson (Rita). Her children, Sonya Bryant (Fred) and Bryant Billingsley (Sylvana).
Her Grandchildren: Ashley Cheney (Matthew), Zach Bryant (Jennifer), Mary Kate Bryant, Mandy Baker (Matthew), Step-Grandmother to Stephen Gregg, Christopher Gregg, and Ryan Gregg (Mikaela). Great Grandchild, William Oliver Bryant, and Step-Great Grandchildren Jackson Gregg, Grace Gregg, Michael Gregg, Everly Gregg, Maison Gregg.
Bettye’s many nieces and nephews loved her and will miss her dearly. Bettye, a longtime resident of Alabama, lived in Selma, Burnsville, Prattville, and Union Springs. She worked for Union Springs Telephone Company, Luquire, and a Montgomery Law Firm. She retired in the Prattville area and spent the last year of her life in Colorado.
People will remember her kindness, joy, and non-stop fun she brought to everyone she met. Bettye is loved and missed by many. Celebration of Life Services May 21, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. Family visitation is 9:00 a.m. at Prattville Memorial Chapel, 841 Fairview, Prattville, AL. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Prattville.
