William Franklin Foster

William Franklin Foster

Carter Funeral Home announces the peaceful transition of Mr. William Franklin Foster, (87), of Midway Alabama. William Franklin Foster was born in Midway, Alabama on December 18, 1934, to Albert Foster, Sr., and Lizzie Jordan Foster.

He was seventh amongst eight siblings. William, or “Honey”, as we called him was a quiet, soft spoken, lovable man with a great sense of humor. He would always keep people laughing. He spent most of his young days working in Detroit, Michigan at the Minnesota Plant, a subsidiary of General Motors for two years.

Thereafter, he moved to Florida and worked at an Orange Grove as a laborer in the agricultural industry. He had a deep love of family and lived with his eldest sister, Carthell for many years in Midway, AL where he was a faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

In his later years he developed dementia and found a new home at Magnolia Haven Nursing Home, LLC in Tuskegee, Alabama, where he was well cared for and loved by the staff.

He was remarkable in a sense, he could remember us when some of us would visit him. He would call you by name but didn't say much else. He was always helping the other tenants whenever he could. He was an active person and survived the Covid-19 pandemic without being affected.

He remained there until he slept into glory and gained his wings on January 17, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert, Sr. & Lizzie Jordan Foster; sisters: Carthell F. Bailey, Ora Bell F. McNabb, Lula Bell F. Smith, and brother: Houston Foster. To cherish his memories, he leaves his sisters: Annie F. Peterson and Hattie F. Thomas; dedicated niece, Elizabeth Thomas, other nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives, friends.

There will be no commemorative service. Farewell good and faithful servant!

The Staff of Carter Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the Final Life Celebration Arrangements for the late Mr. William Franklin Foster.
