Bullock County Sheriff Raymond Rodgers, along with a deputy, county jailers and county inmates destroyed an active moonshine still on Monday afternoon, November 24,1014. The illegal still was located near County Road 14 a few miles east of Blues Old Stand. Sheriff Rodgers said this eighteen drum still could have made around $10,000 to $15,000 worth of moonshine in the last three months. The drums were full of mash almost ready to "run a cooking". All the mash was poured out on the ground. The still was dismantled and destroyed. Holes were placed in the bottom of the drums so they couldn't be reused. Sheriff Rodgers said he received a tip from someone who told him about the still and where it was located. Several moonshine stills have been found in Bullock County this year.
