Bullock County Commissioner John McGowan, Jacque Chandler, and I attended the First Congressional Christian Church 150th Church Anniversary on Sunday, October 23, 2022 in Montgomery, AL at the invitation of Moderator Bea Forniss.

We were delighted to witness Deacon Theodore White, Sr., former instructor and administrator of Bullock County School System, still serving in the capacity of his church. He was recognized for his dedicated service as a deacon.

For decades, Deacon White was a powerful inspiration to the students of Bullock County. My mother, Lamettra Dennis, was thrilled to learn that I had met her former principal. She is a member of Bullock County High School Class of 1976.

Deacon White asked about his former colleague, Doc McGowan and stated, “I have many fond memories of Bullock County”.
