Bullock County Sheriff Raymond "Buck" Rodgers is an elected county official, serving as the arm of the county court, and is responsible for law enforcement over any unincorporated area of the county, ensuring that all local, state, and federal laws are followed.
He performs court duties such as administering the county jail, providing courtroom security, prisoner transportation, and serving warrants. He manages a department in charge of protecting people and property and maintaining order. Sheriff Rodgers oversees the hiring and training of deputies.
They perform the day-to-day tasks of law enforcement under his supervision and direction. Some of their duties are to investigate complaints, emergency response, patrol, monitor traffic safety, resolve disputes, arrest suspects, criminal investigation, and execute warrants.
