Voting took place in the Primary Election on March 3, 2020. For those races where there was not a winner, the run-off election will be on July 14, 2020. If you voted on a Democratic ballot on March 3, 2020, you must vote on the Democratic run-off ballot on July 14.

If you voted on a Republican ballot on March 3, 2020, you must vote on the Republican run-off ballot on July 14, 2020.

Each ballot on March 3, 2020, had this pledge regarding the General Election this fall: "By casting this ballot, I do pledge myself to abide by the result of this Primary Election and to aid and support all the nominees thereof in the ensuing General Election".

Alabama is one of 43 states that hold elections for judicial positions.

Candidates on the Democratic Primary Run-Off Election ballot for State Board of Education District No. 5 are Fred Bell and Tonya Smith Chesnut.

Candidates on the Republican Primary Run-off Election ballot are as follows; For United States Senator, Jeff Sessions and Tommy Tuberville; For United States Representative, 2nd Congressional District, Jeff Coleman and Barry Moore; For Court of Criminal Appeals Judge, Place No. 2, Beth Kellum and Will Smith.

If you fill in an oval on the ballot for a candidate and realize you made a mistake, do not erase it, but ask for a new ballot.
