Faith Baptist packs shoeboxes

The shoeboxes seen here are a part of a large effort known as the “Shoebox” Ministry.

The boxes are filled with toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and miscellaneous things.

These particular ones on the stage at Faith Church on Abercrombie Street in Union Springs all have a New Testament in them and represent a community-wide effort to help disadvantaged children up to 14 years of age around the world.

Pastor Randal Atkins would like to thank Susan Jordan, who spearheaded the effort, and the other ladies of Faith.

They were asked to do ten boxes, set a goal of 20, and due to others assisting, both men in the church, as well as other connected community members, were up to 35 this past Sunday, expecting to go at least in the 40’s if not 50’s.

Thanks to everyone who participated and God’s Blessings on all during this Christmas season who do random acts of kindness showing the love of Christ, who came over 2000 years ago, bringing us the greatest gift of all.

God Bless!
