The annual Chunnenuggee Fair, held in downtown Union Springs in May each year, is canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The fair is sponsored by the Bullock County Historical Society with Susan Anderson as chairman.

The quarterly meeting in April of the Historical Society is also canceled. However, members receive the quarterly newsletter.

The April newsletter featured information about the historic community of High Ridge.

Ten pages featured information about the past, such as the post office, four churches, early landowners, names in 1850 and 1870 census records, High Ridge and Pleasant Grove schools, copies of hand-written 1864 letters, photos of Pleasant Grove CME Church (and church signs and cemetery, two gravestones), a photo of the Berry/Braswell house, and a 2016 General Highway map of this area of Bullock County.

The July 2021 newsletter will contain information about the Macedonia area of Bullock County.

The history is provided by Dean Spratlan, President of the Historical Society.
