City considers banning four wheelers

By Kim Adams Graham

Union Springs Mayor Roderic Clark stated at the last city council meeting that the city is considering an ordinance to ban four-wheelers traveling on city streets.

Councilman Derrick Harris began a discussion about four-wheelers at the meeting. He stated he is concerned about safety. Councilman Louis Murry at a prior meeting had also voiced his concern about the dangers of having four-wheelers on city streets.

Mayor Clark explained that he currently has City Attorney Ashley Mallory researching a possible city ordinance that would ban the four-wheelers on the streets. The ordinance would likely include a fine for anyone violating it.
