Two people made applications to the Union Springs Planning Commission to place mobile homes within the city limits of Union Springs. The applications were denied. The two applicants appealed the decision to the Union Springs City Council.

After hearing the requests, the city council approved both mobile home applications. One mobile home Will be located on K Avenue and the other one on Hicks Industrial Blvd.

Kala Dennis, KD Print Shop and Technology, proposed a contract for HD live-streaming at $150 per hour using her equipment and live-streaming to several social media websites. This was tabled and will be put on the agenda for the next meeting.

The council voted to change the agenda setting day from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The day was not changed, just the time.

Chief Felder requested weapons for his officers and it was approved. The cost is $1854.00.

The city accepted the resignation of City Councilman Derrick Harris.

The city approved hiring an architectural service company to estimate the cost of a new police station. The city engineer, Tim Simpson, is in charge of this project. If a new police station is approved, it will probably be built from the ground up or the old DHR building will be remodeled.

The city did not approve Certified Alabama Planning and Zoning Official (CAPZO) Workshop for Joyce Perin.
