On Saturday, October 2, 2021, supporters from near and far gathered at Tiss Valley Winery & Vineyard, LLC for a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony in Midway, AL. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was eloquently facilitated and supported by family and friends.
Alabama State Senator Billy Beasley, Midway Mayor Mildred Whittington, Midway Councilwoman Dollie Blue, and Bullock County Commissioner Don Larkins expressed their congratulatory words and support.
A wine tasting bar was set up to sample available wine flavors.
There were hors d’oeuvres, delicacies, desserts, and a delicious barbeque meal catered by Lee’s BBQ for those in attendance. Kendall Hurt and company were on-site with a live band for musical selections. Southern Belle Missreka provided a 360 photo booth for a memorial photo experience. Melinda Barnes had personalized shirts made for family and friends.
Multi-Media Journalist Ra’shonn Jacques Hurt filmed the memorable event. Sontissa Hurt Nolen, founder, and CEO is a Midway native and is the daughter of proud parents, Michael and Brenda Walker. She is the wife of Curtis Nolan, and together they have three children.
Mrs. Nolan is also greatly supported by her mother in law Ms. Lizzie Washington. Tiss Valley Winery & Vineyard, LLC was founded in 2021 and specializes in fifteen different wine flavors, including sweet, semi-sweet, dry, and dessert wines. Other available items include charcuterie boards, meats, cheeses, and desserts.
There is an on-site gift shop and tasting area.
