Communication Officer Evelyn Ellis was awarded 'Officer of the Month' for her outstanding work performance.

On February 28, 2021, Ms. Ellis was working alone when she got a call about two male subjects who had stolen a vehicle on Highway 110.

The call was dispatched to the Bullock Sheriff Department. Once a deputy was on the scene, he advised shots fired, and the subjects were heading west on Highway 110. The chase ended on Interstate 85 heading north.

Ms. Ellis then got the Shorter Police Department and Macon County Sheriff department on the phone and advised them of the 10-100 headed that way.

Ms. Ellis stayed on the phone with both departments and ensured all information was put out over the radio to keep officers updated.

Bullock County Sheriff Raymond Rodgers call Chief Felder on Monday morning and told him what an outstanding Job Ms. Ellis had done.

The story was related to the Police Committee on March 29, 2021, and they wanted Ms. Ellis to be awarded Officer of the Month.
