The September Bullock County Commission Meeting was held on September 13, 2021, at the Robert B. Stone Building on Highway 82 East at 9:00 a.m.

Those in attendance included; Commissioner Don Larkins, County Administrator Patrick Smith, Commissioner John McGowan, Chairman Alonza Ellis, Commissioner Solomon Marlow Jr., and Attorney John Waters.

Absent from the meeting was Commissioner Johnny Adams.

The Bullock County Commission approved several items on its agenda, including hiring two new employees for the Bullock County Probate Judge, James E. Tatum.

Ms. Sephra Davis was to be hired on September 20, 2021, with the starting pay of $11 an hour, and Ms. Marcy Clesattle is to be hired as of October 10, 2021, with the starting pay of $10 an hour.

The commissioners approved a resolution for county employees to become Essential Workers, if eligible, to receive state-funded benefits.

Commissioner John McGowan amended the agenda to include the yearly bid to continue to receive gas from May’s Distribution, as well as the annual bid to receive herbicide from IBM Solutions.

The Commissioners approved both.

One Bullock County Citizen stood and gave thanks and appreciation to the commissioners for having Hayes Hill Road graveled.
