Union Springs made the news on WBRC Fox 6 News on December 26, 2021. The news clip was titled "Absolutely Alabama, Hometown for the Holidays."

The reporter said that the Bullock County Art Guild had transformed downtown Union Springs. He said this is the Bird Dog Field Trial Capital of the World with quail hunting and the national field trials and the Birddog statue is the only statue in the world dedicated to this sport.

However, he said the Bullock County Art Guild had "magically transformed downtown Union Springs into an old-time community Christmas."

There were video pictures of the paintings of Christmas figures as he narrated this news.

He introduced Joyce Perrin with her painting a window as a military veteran, real estate agent, nurse, politician, and Bullock County Art Guild member.

She explained how the project came into being, from painting a couple of windows to a total of 73 windows by this "community group" of artists, and the murals have been enjoyed.

The reporter said the painted windows of Christmas figures gave the downtown an "artistic holiday feeling, a hometown holiday feeling made in a couple of weeks" of painting.

The video of downtown Union Springs for this unique artistic Christmas project was a tribute to Christmas and the talents and generous spirit of the local artists.

This news report about Union Springs went state wide through several stations. It will be shown again this coming weekend.
