October is "Pastor Appreciation Month." Honor your pastor by sending a message of thanks.

By Faye Gaston

October is "Pastor Appreciation Month."

There are over 80 churches in Bullock County. According to Lifeway Research, there are 314,000 Protestant churches in the United States.

Each church has leaders committed to the local church, and each church has faced an enormous task, especially in the past couple of years.

Pastors have faced difficult challenges since March 2020.

October is the month to honor the pastor and spouse by presenting them a special "thank you" gift and to focus on the gift of praying for them.

An appreciation gift could be a card, a personal letter, or a donation for a trip.

Sunday School teachers could organize a "text day" to send a text message to the pastor on the same day.

The role of pastors has been vital to churches and their communities throughout the history of America.

"Pastor Appreciation Day" is celebrated on the second Sunday of October. Letters of appreciation could be presented to the pastor on that day, along with a financial gift.
