Alonza Ellis, Jr., Chairman of the Bullock County Commission, organized a special Christmas event on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.

The Bullock County Commission partnered with SCADC to give away turkeys, carry-out meals, and gift bags. COVID funds paid for these.

Senior citizen participants at the nutrition centers in Union Springs and Midway were given a turkey for a home Christmas menu.

At noon, a "Community Health & Safety" meeting was held at the Richard Stone Complex.

To-go meals were distributed. Gift bags were delivered with COVID-related facial masks, hand sanitizers, and sanitary wipes. Some employees from the city, the sheriff's department, the Revenue Commission office, county road and bridge employees, and citizens attended this Christmas event.

Chairman Ellis expressed his appreciation for assisting in this event to the county central office employees: Shirley Jackson, Linda Russell, Miranda Townsend, Ms. Tolbert, Janne Brabham, Patrick Smith, Beverly Pierson, and county employee Ricky Calloway.
