The Bullock County Commission reviewed the annual sales tax holiday for school-related items at its monthly meeting on April 12, 2021.

The notification to the state from Bullock County to participate was received on May 8, 2017, by a resolution or ordinance number 2017-7 with an effective period of "each year" for participation.

Bullock County is on the updated 2021 list for Alabama as a participating county. Shoppers in Bullock County will have the opportunity to purchase school-related supplies and clothing, with the state waiving its 4% sales tax on July 16-18, 2021, the third full weekend in July.

The 16th "Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday" begins at 12:01 a.m. on the 3rd Friday of July and ends at midnight on that Sunday pursuant to 40-23-210 through 213, Code of Alabama, 1975.

This school sales tax holiday began in 2006 for the purchase of certain school supplies that include computers, books, clothes, etc.
