Bryant Cox arrested for Felony Aggravated Cruelty to an Animal photo from Facebook

By Felicia Farnsworth

On July 26, 2022, sometime after midnight, Bryant Cox, of Bullock County, was allegedly seen on closed circuit cameras at the Union Springs American Grocers (A.G) trying to break into the soda vending machines on the outside of the store. One of his jostlings of the machines apparently scared a kitten who was living underneath it.

When the kitten ran out from under the machine, Cox allegedly proceeded to take his frustrations out on the small defenseless animal by hitting it repeatedly with a tree branch from across the road. Everytime he was defeated by the machine he would repeat the process until the point of mutilation. He then left and came back before the store opened and removed the dead cat from the premises.

Authorities were called after the footage was viewed. A warrant was produced that resulted in an arrest. Bryant Cox was arrested with felony charges of Aggravated Cruelty to an Animal. He is currently being held at the Bullock County Jail without bond.
