Do you have a plan for what is next with your family? If you are single, you need a plan. If you are married, you need a plan. If you are divorced, you need a plan. If you are in a dating relationship, you need a plan. Those who fail to plan, plan to fail.
Do you have a plan to improve at home? Do you have a plan to win at home? Do you have life insurance? Do you have health insurance? Are you saving for your children a car and college? Do you plan vacations for your family, for yourself, for your loved ones?
Smart people think about the future.
I was born and raised in Florida and grew up without seeing much snow or experiencing cold weather. I moved to Oklahoma to attend college in the late summer of 1996. The weather in Oklahoma was like North Florida in August. Although I packed several items, including memorabilia from high school, the Jesus portrait my grandmother got me, and several shoes, I did not pack a coat. I do not know if I owned a coat.
It did not matter because I did not need a coat in August. The months passed by, and it was now November, and I experienced my first snowfall. It was truly amazing. I took pictures and celebrated like I had won the championship. The excitement lasted for two days, and then I was hoping the snow would go away. The snow was not as pretty on days, and the roads were hard to drive on.
However, the major issue was the temperature. It was cold. I remember the temperature was zero. I did not know that was possible. Zero. It was zero degrees.
I had experienced a hundred degrees but never zero. I had experienced hurricanes and heavy rainfall, but never zero degrees. My grandmother would always take an umbrella with her because she said you never know when you need it. She was prepared for rain even when there was no rain in the forecast. I did not need a coat during my first three months in Oklahoma, but I did during the fourth month. I was not prepared.
Are you planning in your home? Are you prepared for a rainy or cold day? Please do not wait until it gets cold to find a coat.
Three ways to win at home:
1. Makes plans for the life you want, not the life you have.
2. Do what is best for your future, your parent’s future, and your children’s future now.
3. Be ready, so you do not have to get ready.
