Community newspapers are the backbone to the sustainability of events that affect people who live in the area and those who may have moved away and want to keep up with happenings at home.
Local newspapers provide information to readers that are not available in statewide news sources and can devote space to cover events sufficiently.
These newspapers chronicle local people, events, sports, obituaries, governmental news, and much more that serve as a permanent history in print for future generations.
Oftentimes, the local newspapers are used as a source for genealogists to search family and historical data, so it is vital to each community to support the opportunity that having a local community newspaper provides.
