County Commissioner John McGowan presented 10 $100 bills to parents, grandparents and students to help with their back to school expenses.

This event is annual and free to the public. Monies for this event is donated by Ka’Shaad’s family.

This is their way of giving back to the community.

A special thanks to the spokesperson for the Ka’Shaad Hurts Memorial Scholarship Foundation, Commissioner John McGowan.

The winners are as follows: Chloe Lawson, Peyton Anglin, Kristiannia Perry, Curtis Passmore, Jr., Keldrick Banks, Markyria Wright, Channing Ousley, Liliah Smith, Nyhiem Ellis and David Benton.
