Mallory Hope Moon and William Joseph Lee, V were united in marriage on May 29, 2009. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Moon of Fitzpatrick, Ala. the groom is the son of Mr. William Joseph Lee, IV of Union Springs, Ala. and Ms. Leslie Jackson on Deatsville, Ala.

Two Bullock County Seniors are headed to Colorado for four days of fun, learning and empowering at that 2009 STARS National Conference at Colorado State University. The two seniors are Kalandria Ivey and Jalicia Maddox.

Jessica Lynne Mahaffey was named to the University of South Alabama College of Allied Health Professions Dean’s List for the spring 2009 semester.

25 Years Ago - 1994

4H Senior Public Speaking Contest winners were Felester Meadows, Jermaine Watts, and Derrick Dawson.

Michael Evans a sorter for the United Parcel Service has recently been promoted to part-time Supervisor. Michael has been a UPS employee for two years and his responsibilities include supervising employees in Montgomery.

50 Years Ago - 1969

The Reverend George Mathison filled his regular appointment at the Methodist Church Sunday and was dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Moore.

Mr. Joe Gholston returned Sunday from Birmingham where he attended a Lions’ Club Convention.

Mr. John Thompson left on Monday for Honolulu, Hawaii where he will be employed for the summer by Sky Chef, an airline catering service. He had spent several days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thompson, after completing his freshman year at the University of Alabama.

Mr. and Mrs. Thompson also had as their guests during the weekend their daughter, Miss Janie Thompson and Mr. Fred Isaac of Jacksonville, Fla and Miss Jane Pruett of Seale, Ala.

75 Years Ago - 1944

Corpl. Elizabeth Owen, of the Military Reservation, Indiantown Gap, Penn., is at home for a visit with her mother Mrs. C.A. Owen.

Mrs. H. C. Mattox and the boys Buck and tuck, left last week for their home in Birmingham.

Miss Catherine Edwards spent the past week-end with Miss Anne Rutland at Mitchells.

Cutting crust from bread for sandwiches with a pair of scissors rather a knife takes less time.
