The Union Springs City Council granted a parade permit for Bullock County High School for the purpose of holding its homecoming parade on October 10 at 2 p.m.
The Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual banque Sept. 25 at “Somewhere in Time Antiques.

The First National Bank of Union Springs has announced the employment of Tiffany W. Pugh. Tiffany joins the staff of First National Bank as Loan Officer.
Mrs. Mary Edwards Bell will celebrate her 100th birthday on Tuesday, September 28. Her daughter, Betty Bell Main, will entertain with an open house in her honor. She is a member of Union Springs Presbyterian Church.
Diana Surles and James W. Penn, Jr., both of Union Springs, were united in marriage on September 6, 1993 at 1:00 p.m. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Hawthorne Reed.

The National Tuberculosis Association will have a mobile unit in front of the Bullock County Courthouse on Friday and Saturday. It only takes a few minutes of your time, and if there is nothing wrong, the satisfaction of knowing that you are all right is well worth the time. If you do have a spot on your lungs, catching it early means a complete cure in less time.
Among those from Union Springs at Auburn University pledging sororities and fraternities are Mona Teresa Graham, Delta Zeta; Jerry Henderson, Sigma Phi Epsilon and Sam Rainer, Sigma Chi.
Mrs. W. H. Turner, Mrs A. W. Oliver, and Mrs. W. H. Garner, members of the Magazine Club, attended the Fifth District Meeting of the Alabama Federation of Women’s Clubs at the Woman’s Club in Montgomery last Friday.
