Ben Main and the Main Drug Store family were awarded a certificate of service from the Bullock County Chamber of Commerce last week.
The Model Garden Club met on March 18, at the home of Mrs. John W. Waters with Mrs. Sam Waters as co-hostess. The lovely home was decorated with an array of spring blossoms to set the theme of the meeting.
The Conecuh Springs 4H Show Team recently competed in the district and state steer and heifer show held in Montgomery, Alabama. Members of the team include Joseph Adams and Wyatt McLaney.

John C. (Pete) Trussell has announced he is a candidate for the office of the Chairman of the Bullock County Commission.
Mr. and Mrs. James Counsell (Nee Penny May) and children, Blake, Macy, and Chase, were weekend guest of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas May and Manna. Saturday everyone enjoyed a fishing ship with Manna making the biggest catch of all - a 4 - 5 pound bass.
Rev. and Mrs. Tom Randall of Union Springs, Alabama announce the engagement of their daughter, Kara Leigh Randall, to Kevin Glenn Brannon of Birmingham.

Robert and Ruth Hassett have opened their Dari-Deluxe on the west side of town and it is really nice. Robert is Agent for the Central of Georgia, and Ruth was formally shipping clerk of Southern Multiple Forms, Inc. we wish these two hard working people much success.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Barnett are visiting Dr. and Mrs. Vernon Barnett in Birmingham.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hoffmann, John and Paige, accompanied Misses Rebecca Tompkins and Mary Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Holly Bickerstaff of Montgomery to the rodeo in Montgomery last Thursday night.

In Holland’s Magazine for April, there is a group of photos by U.S Maritime Service. Billy Louis Shirley is being recognized as the sailor who is weight-lifting in the group. In the backyard of the Shirley home, Billy Louis has his own weight-lifting equipment, which he enjoyed having has many friends share with him.
Mrs. Will Ward of New Brocton visited with her daughter, Mrs. Jim Paulk over the weekend.
Lieut. James Parham, who has been spending his leave at home, and Mrs. Parham are leaving today, for Flint, Michigan, where Lieut. Parham will take a special course in a naval school.
