On Friday the Union Springs Elementary School honored grandparents by hosting the 2nd annual national Grandparents Day. The committee is secretary Mrs. Wheeler, Nurse Osborne, Starrah Huffman, Principal Mitchell, Mr. Shields and the entire faculty and staff at Union Springs Elementary.

Mr. and Mrs. Mike Green announce the birth of a 6 lb. 6 oz. baby boy, Cody Aron, on August 9, 1993. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Green and Winton Barefoot, all of Brundidge and Mrs. Martha Green and the late Comer F. Green of Union Springs. Cody was welcomed home by his 13 year old brother, Justin.
Mr. and Mrs. Al Vann (Jean Corbitt) announce the birth of a 4 lb 12 oz baby boy, Daniel Beckham Vann (Beck) on September 12, 1993. Proud grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Roy Corbitt of Tuskegee, Alabama and Mariannie Beckham Smith of Union Spring, Alabama.

Mrs. Ruth Thompson of Union Springs has been named 1968-1969 Education Chairman of the American Cancer Society. In Bullock County, where the Education Program is sponsored by the B.P.W. Club. Mrs. Nell Guthrie is Club President.
Almeria Church of Christ was the setting September 7 for the wedding of Miss Willodean Roughton and Walter Dean Spratlan. Mrs Dick Barr, Jr. sang “Because,” “I Love You Truly” and “The Lord’s Prayer.”
