After defeating Opp 58-46 in the previous game, the Hornets took on the Slocomb Red Tops for the 3A Southeast Regional Championship. Throughout the whole competition dominated both sides of the floor.

What started the domination was Bullock County’s defense.

The Hornets allowed only two Red Tops’ players to have double digit scoring. The Hornets completely outplayed Slocomb with different schemes on defense.

They finished the game with 12 steals and 5 blocks, which are the reason for them scoring 26 fast break points and 20 points off turnovers.

The Hornets were led by Regional Tournament Most Valuable Player Dontavious Blue.

Blue finished with 15 points, 7 assists, 2 blocks and, 3 steals. Brandon Perry also contributed with 16 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals.

Cedric Nichols, who also was selected for the All-Tournament Team was the leading scorer with 20 points.

The Hornets punched their ticket to the state championship to Birmingham. This is the first trip since 2008 when they won it all.
