Friday, the Black and Gold took on the St. James Trojans for their season home opener.
In the first quarter like previous times, Bullock County had trouble putting a stop of St. James offense. The Hornets’ D-Line had the most difficult time struggling to get the quarterback or the running backs. In the first quarter the Hornets allowed 21 points (Two rushing touchdowns).
With the running being successful it opened up the throwing game for the Trojans. By the half the Hornets were down big 35-7 on the scoreboard. ( JayMarkis Foster scored the only rushing touchdown for B.C.)
In the second half, the Hornets showed a little life. Bullock County was able to slow down the Trojans for a couple series.
The Hornets had potential on the offensive end with two scores. (A receiving touchdown by Luke Sturdivant and rushing touchdown Jederrius Flintroy).
Despite some sparks from the Hornets, the Trojans were outplayed the Hornets on both ends along with special teams. At the end of the game the score was 44-21 as the result.
