The Conecuh Springs Christian School (CSCS) Eagles hosted Cornerstone Christian this past Friday night for homecoming. In front of a very large crowd, the Eagles were able to win in a close and hard fought contest 33-31.
The ground game for the Eagles was able to get back on track after a lackluster performance last week. Leading rusher for CSCS was Cesar Bravo-Mota, carrying the ball 16 times for 167 yards and 3 touchdowns. Richard Santay also scored on the ground with a 2 yard rush. Santay was also on the receiving end of the Eagles only touchdown pass, a 10 yard reception from Joseph Munoz.
The defense for the Eagles was exposed by the quarterback for Cornerstone, who threw for 5 touchdowns. However when a stop was needed in the 4th quarter the defense rose to the occasion and caused a turnover on downs to seal the victory. Leading the defense once again was Tristen Moseley with 6 tackles and 1 assist.
Also contributing was Efraim Vaquero and Kevin Padilla with 4 tackles and 1 assist each.
With the victory the Eagles were able to secure the number 2 seed in the league and will host a playoff game on October 25th. CSCS will finish the regular season on the road against Brooklane Baptist October 17th.
Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. and all Eagle fans are encouraged to make the trip to support the team.
